Our Italian friend returns to the Rising Music Camp with sixty minutes of pounding tunes all delicately mixed together, forming a synergy of musical bliss. I love it anyway…. here’s the iTunes download link and please do turn it up nice and loud!
We must also take the opportunity to let you all know his huge vocal track San Francisco Rain ft the beautiful Mooli, is now available for download at all major digital stores:
So once again voting is almost over for this year's DJ Mag Top 100….
It's been a busy year for Chris and the Rising Music team; lots of touring, some huge successes with 'Only One' and 'If You Knew' feat the gorgeous Nastala, and just last week we launched the first Rising Music Podcast which made iTunes 'New & Notable' for a whole week!
On the 9th October we're celebrating our first 'Rising Nights' party as support to Chris, Michael Woods and the legendary Deadmau5 at Manchester's Warehouse Project. I'd say get yourself down, but apparently it's already sold out Happy days! Keep your ears to the ground though – we're giving away a few VIP tickets in the next few days!
If you are a fan of Chris Lake and his Rising Music artists; Lys, Rene Amesz, Sour Grapes etc etc…. now is the time to get your last minute votes in.
These could change the face of digital djing for good. My only gripe is the price – The reason software like ableton and traktor have succeeded is because of the quality but also the price. With one these decks coming in at roughly the price of two mk3′s (£1,499 each!!!) I think Pioneer are going to have a hard time shifting to their core clients – Bedroom DJs. Anyway, here’s a good little video from the people at DJ Mag:
A proud day for the label… here’s a little history lesson for you:
Once upon a time in a land far far away…..
“Rising Music was launched in 2006 as a means for Chris Lake to release his own material. Rising swiftly became the benchmark for pure underground house – releases that included ‘One Too Many’, ‘Fantasy’ and ‘Release’ set the standard, whilst Chris has also shown that his A&R head is amongst the best in the business by signing artists that include Sebastien Leger, Micky Slim and Deadmau5.”
….Since then, the label has evolved and as a team, Rising Music helps to promote and develop new and emerging artists. The Rising Music Podcast is the team’s opportunity to globally showcase the producers and DJs of this world who are truly on the cutting edge of great house music.”
So people… we’ve kicked off with Sour Grapes live in Barcelona…. thanks lads and enjoy!
So in a few hours Chis is jumping back on a flight to play New York's Electric Zoo Festival this coming Saturday… First point any Lake fans should be aware of is the set is being recorded live on Sirius XM Radio… so get those satellite stations tuned in!
Second up, this coming Sunday see's Chris and his bag of MASSIVE tunes hit Sundaze at the Wave House for the very first time. We spoke to the kind people at Eventvibe.com… and we've managed to get five pairs of guestlist tickets for this Labour Day Soiree. So if you want to party the day away with Chris and DJ Heavygrinder, all you need to do is answer this question:
What is the name of Chris Lake's debut Album released earlier this year on Nervous Records?
Please email answers to this address and include your full name, contact number and… well lets just say… pics and videos of you raving your ass off usually help with these competitions! See you there and good luck!!! Here's a preview!
For further details of Chris' tour dates, check out his MySpace and as always, he'll be on twitter micro-blogging his daily ups and downs. In the meantime, here's a live mix he had recorded last week in Brazil and a cheeky video of Mike Weiss and him chatting about the North American market place.
