On this beautifully sunny day I have nothing but good news from the Rising camp. Much needed, as two days ago I wrote off my little motor in something of freak incident… thankfully no injuries, but lets just say it's not been a great week. So, doom and gloom aside, here goes.

We welcome two new contributors to share their thoughts on the pages of the blog; first up a lady many will know as Nastala. When asked to offer up a little intro we got this back in return: "Singer/Songwiter with an eye for design and graphics, lives on another
planet, you're more then welcome to come visit, likes pretty things,
confidently shy. Love your happiness :) " – highly suitable wouldn't you say?! And then Ms Vicky Finn, semi-pro photographer and our branding and social media consultant at Rising Digital. Again, we couldn't help but chuckle a wee bit when her two lines came through: "I like angles, buttons, skies and colour. But especially balance. Grids, white space, rule breaking. Yes. I'm in." So, introductions over, let the posting begin ladies!

Onto the music. You'll be pleased to know Chris has landed his May podcast… in May… who'd of thought it hey?! It's a blinder too, but I'll leave it to you to crack on with the listening and make your own mind up. Download from iTunes here and subscribe to the RSS here.

Finally it's time to talk tunes. Lake & Lys spent three weeks in the studio when we got back from the North American tour and what they've come up with is already proving to tick all those magical summer sound boxes. But between you and I, there some stuff that's definitely in need of being saved for the dark winter nights, when we long for those dark techie rolling basslines… ooo… I cannee wait!

So, there's a few videos circulating the net at this very moment, incuding the two remixes by Sour Grapes. In true, 'it's all about Seb style' here's my favourite from the Swedish lads, Lake & Lys 'Violins', the Sour Grapes Staccato Mix, out on Rising 3rd June 2009. Also, just in case you're new to us, you can now find us on facebook and twitter

Enjoy it folks and have a smashing weekend.

After a few weeks of radio silence from Chris, it seems his two weeks of studio time with friend and producer Marco Lys has done the job. We’re ready for a cracking Summer Series this year and here’s the first snippet. Out on 3rd June, we give you a promo for Lake & Lys ‘Violins’ out of Rising and available for LEGAL download at beatport.com.

Just a quickie to get us all going on this Monday morning! Got this footage sent through from the nice people up at Colours. Well… it got my foot tapping! (Oh, and apologies for the sound quality!)

I saw this on the Mixmag Blog today and really struggled to see any part of it that's entertaining, funny or informative. Maybe I'm just getting old, but is this not taking application-humor too far? Just think about it… when would pulling this thing out actually be funny? Perhaps you might get a laugh in the toilets of a club at 6am, followed swiftly by a smack in the face from some coke-whore for getting them excited under faulse pretence. I don't know.

Not that he needs it, but when you see an artist rise to fame as quickly as this guy you can't help but say 'nice one mate – fair play to you'. Over the past two years Joel has certainly picked up his share of lovers and haters, but whatever he's doing, it's working. We had the pleasure of hanging out with him a couple of weeks ago – twas mental. But this weekend just gone saw a different kind of fame status. The kind that you get when you've got a track in the UK's Top 40 and pick up a awesome set time on the 'In New Music We Trust' stage at the BBC's annual festival. Now, for those of you who want to see a nice, well balanced clip of the Mau5 doing his thing with the innocent kids of Swindon, check out this out. For those of you who wish to see a slightly more raw Joel in action, raving with the dirt loving northerners, well…. enjoy:

Ah the final leg of a six week tour. Apologies for the quality, but a certain airline managed to lose our bags (and camera charger…gutted), so we turned to Darren and my pretty awful 2megapixel Blackberry. Never the less, I hope we captured just how shit scared we were of flying towards the end… and for that matter, how fatigue made Chris kind of lose the plot for an hour or six. In the words of a certain Chef…. DONE!

We know what you must be thinking, no podcast in December and now the March edition is missing, how sketchy is Chris Lake?

Well, in his defense, when he left London six weeks ago to start his debut album tour of North America, he had the very best intentions. Sound cards were packed, the mic was in the hand-luggage and soundcards safely stowed away….or so we thought. Within twelve hours of arriving in land of peace and bohemian safe-haven San Francisco, his portable studio was gone.

So, whilst traveling the territory he’s been picking up bits and pieces as he’s gone along, and now, with great pleasure we announce the April edition for your listening pleasure.

As always, it can be picked up on iTunes or subscribe via our RSS feed by clicking here.
