Something we at Rising Music are incredibly fond of, but rarely talk about is photography. From the well-thought out shots to the lucky works of art, we love them all. We do have a Flickr page, but I think in the music industry the majority of fans and peers would rather watch a video or actually hear a track… aside of course from those clubs snaps when you’re looking all bright eyed and bushy tailed….

Well our good friends at Wolfstar are currently working on a project with Sony Ericsson to promote its annual World View competition – I think this has World View competitionbeen running for a fair while now, but this year they’ve really jacked up the social media side of things – using relevant bloggers to help aid the word of mouth effect. I personally love this attitude towards marketing; it’s fresh, unpredictable and most importantly it’s about giving random consumers the opportunity to get involved.

So….plug time; if you look to the right of this post you’ll see a blue Sony Ericsson widget – give it a click and get your mobile phone snaps up there – apparently the holiday prizes are amazing and you never know… this might be your lucky day.

I had a chat with Chris about this last night, and we thought that since so many of you are now loving the Facebook banter, we’ve also set up our own little competition on the social networking site which will go like this:

STAGE 1: You must take a photo of Chris Lake at a gig, in the street or of some of our artwork/branding in a club or on a poster/flyer. The only request is that we DEMAND creativity!

STAGE 2: It must be uploaded to our Facebook fan page under the ‘fan photos’ section under ‘Photos’ and must include a caption (some text to go with the picture. Again though, we need your creativity here).

STAGE 3: Although the comp is starting as of today, if you’ve got anything from 2008 onwards it’ll be valid. We’re going to let this roll until December at which point we’ll pick out 3 winners in time for Christmas.

STAGE 4: Prizes will either be guest-lists to your chosen Chris Lake gig with the opportunity to hang out with Chris before and after the event, or we’ll send you some tunes on digital or vinyl – your choice.

Good luck people!
