Yo! Hope everyone had a great weekend! There was some awesome music around from Friday to Sunday and I wanted to share a little snippet of what I heard! Here goes…
So it seems a few of you like “Start Again“… well this time Chris is offering up two tracks in one package. This second part to the Summer Series is an E.P featuring tracks: “Mission” and “Only one“. I love them both, biased as that sounds, but for me “Mission” is just awesome… I heard him play it at Purrfect Electro back in June, and the bleeps followed me long into the weekend… happy humming people.
So much to say, so much to do, things here at Rising are mental, good mental, but mental! This bit of news is massive for Chris and the rest of us. You can now pick up our first ever podcast on either iTunes, or simply go to the podcast page on our website and subscribe by email. I don’t want to give anything away – this time it’s all about Mr Lake, some of his favourite records and the recently released “Start again” feat. Nastala. Take it away mate!
Hi! My name’s Duncan and I’m part of the team here at Rising Music. I work at three six zero which has been working with Chris and his labels for the past three years.
This is my first EVER blog so be gentle with me! Each Friday I’m going to bring you a selection of our favourite tracks in the 360 office and every Monday a selection of the biggest tracks from my weekend manoeuvres. Tastes will vary, so I’m expecting some thumbs up, but some abuse too – we welcome the debate so don’t be shy! Here goes…
This week in the office we are feeling (in no particular order):
deadmau5 – Hi Friend (mau5trap): The mau5 is killing things at the moment and this track has been bubbling under all summer!
Chris Lake feat Nastala – Start Again (Rising Music): Brilliant new tune from the main man himself! Cool track with a great vocal from the amazing Nastala.
Steve Angello – Gypsy (Size): Tune! Essential new tune on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection (BBC Radio One) and on heavy rotation on the office soundsystem!
Lys – Speechless (Rising Trax): Coming out on Chris’s Rising Trax imprint, this is another storming electro house track that’s been setting dancefloors alight.
Farley ‘Jackmaster’ Funk – Love Can’t Turn Around (Boys Noize Started Like This Mix) (White Label): This is a bit of a cheeky one but a brilliant update of an all time classic!
So there you have it! Some cool tunes here to whet the whistle! I’ll be back Monday with a selection of the biggest tracks from my weekend, but until then, have a good one!
Good afternoon. So, this morning… well ever since last night actually, the team here at Rising Music have been buzzing… we’ll give you an update on exactly why later tonight, but this is how the story goes so far…
A few months ago Chris signed what we all thought was a genius tune to Rising Trax. It comes from Venetian based producer and DJ, Lys, a man who is just simply all about quality electro-tinged house. This massive summer piano track is called “Speechless” – and is set to be hitting the digital shelves in the next two months. Chris has pulled together a quick snippet for you, which can either be streamed or downloaded within seconds. We hope you like this as much as we do and as always would appreciate your feedback.
Just to give our new readers a bit of background; Rising Trax was set up in early 2006, as a means for Chris to promote and support up and coming talent. To date he has worked with the likes of San Fran Ruby Skye resident DJ/producer Max Vangelli, the massive Deadmau5 and “Jump Around” bootleg legend – Micky Slim. He has also signed pieces by Rene Amesz and Peter Gelderblom, such as the sickly twisted tech house record – “Snap!” and King Clip’s jackin “this is the hook”. Not to mention the latest release on Rising Trax, “Rhythm code” feat. Simone Denny, the Canadian vocalist widely known for Love Inc’s “You’re a supterstar”.
As soon as we have a firm release date for “Speechless” we’ll be sure to let you know, in the meantime – have good weekends people!
So this was the 3rd gig of the tour, playing to 3,000 people in a venue which normally holds a corn festival. I found a few cobs, and couldn’t resist a photo opportunity!
Aside from the video itself, the headline pretty much covers this post, all I can say is, the rest of the team back here in the UK are gagging to be in Brazil. Oooh…. and we’ve been doing quite a lot of work to our Facebook and YouTube profiles – have a look!
After a one hour free conversation between Brazil and the UK (love Skype), we got all the details of Chris’ weekend escapades at the Warung Beach Club. Check it out:
So here we go, blog number one from me. Firstly I’d like to say I’m really excited to be starting the Rising Music team blog as a new way to interact fully with fans of Rising Music / Rising Trax, and my own productions. However, for those of you that don’t know me, my name is Chris Lake, and I’m a house music producer, as well as running Rising Music & Trax along with Dean, Harvey, Seb & Gita. So I’m not going to mess about, as I’d like to tell you what I’ve been up to as of late. Firstly, we have the new web-site launched at www.chris-lake.com. A very exciting event for me personally as its been designed in a way that we can provide as much information to the visitor, as well as being future proof so we can add more ways to interact with people. On that note, I’d like to say a big thank you to Seb, Gita, Ravin’ Tom and Retro Fuzz for making this happen. So apart from the web stuff, I’ve also been very busy in the studio, writing new singles for our forthcoming ‘Rising Summer Series’, erm, Series! The idea of this is to be putting out one release every month for the next 3-4 months, starting with Chris Lake feat. Nastala – Start Again. More details of what is coming afterwards in future blogs…… On the remix front I’ve recently taken on a few projects, including the Ting Tings – Shut up and let me go, and Sia – Buttons. I’ll be keeping the posts frequent, but you can also follow me more regularly here.
Hello people! It gives me great pleasure to announce the opening of rising music’s first team blog! We should soon be hearing from our head-honcho Mr Chris Lake, but with the summer festivities already underway, we wanted to get cracking as soon as possible. My name’s Sebastian Mysko; team blogger, music enthusiast, and chef extraordinaire. My employment background falls into the digital marketing and public relations category, but for anyone who questions my love for music – I’ve been DJing to the massive crowds that gather in my bedroom since the age of fifteen! I’ve also spent a hell a lot of time working with three nights/labels that I still hold close to my heart; Shindig in the Toon, the Hed Kandi days at Stereo (before Mark left), and my good friends at Wax On – much love to all of you. The purpose of this blog is to give the team here at rising music an opportunity to talk about music news, debate controversial issues in the industry and obviously keep anyone who cares to read this updated on what Chris and the label are up to. We also warmly welcome comments both positive and negative, although please keep it constructive… hurling profanity will get you nowhere. So without further-a-do – let’s get going! Sebastian
